Chapelwood United Methodist Church
Chapelwood United Methodist Church is a friendly, family-oriented congregation of believers in Jesus Christ that has been ministering the Athens area since 1961. Our mission oriented, faithful community serves by reaching out to others locally, nationally, and globally. There's always something happening at Chapelwood! Sunday worship service give members an opportunity to celebrate their faith, hear the Word of God, and prepare to share the Word with others in our daily lives. But that's just the beginning!
Our choir is one of the best you'll ever hear! The anthems each week are always spiritually uplifting and range from very traditional to bluegrass to gospel...and sometimes even the sounds of the Caribbean islands!

We're more than a "Sunday Morning Church"!
There are twice-weekly Stretch & Flex sessions; youth activities; UMW Circle meetings; Sunday School parties; prayer meetings; UMM weekly breakfast gatherings and monthly dinners; special fund-raisers; the annual Love Tree for needy kids at Christmas; the Blessing of the Pets; prayer shawl ministry; and--last but not least--the semi-annual Mission Garage Sale, featuring an enormous selection of great new and slightly used items for your home, closet, garage, yard, or car! Chapelwood is always finding ways to help feed the needs of our neighbors and fulfill our mission to pass along the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
