Wesley Sunday School Class

 
This class is named for John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. We enjoy having each other lead our classes as our teachers, with an occasional guest teacher. Our curriculum is the International Bible Studies quarterly.Chapelwood's Wesley Class
 
Activities:
 
OUR DAILY BREAD: One Third Wednesday each quarter, at Noon, Oconee Street Methodist Church – Wesley Class members volunteer to prepare and serve lunch for homeless and less fortunate persons.

FELLOWSHIP SUPPERS: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays, 6:00 PM, Bill Bailey Fellowship Hall, everyone is invited to enjoy a "home-cooked" meal for only $5.00 each or $15/family; if Wesley Class is host, some members arrive early to make tea, coffee, set up paper products, assist Chef Connie arrange food for serving; others prefer to stay late to clean up the kitchen and fellowship hall.

FIFTH SUNDAY BREAKFAST: if Wesley Class hosts, members volunteer to cook and serve breakfast for the rest of the church. Some arrive early to prepare and cook, some arrive later to clean up. Class is responsible for a short program instead of having individual Sunday School classes.

CANNED GOODS FOR FOOD BANK: Along with the rest of the church membership, class members collect money and bring in canned goods for donation to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank, competing against other Sunday School Classes for a stylish trophy. The winner announced each January or February after the annual Super Bowl game.
 
SUMMER COVERED DISH SUPPER: Usually held in late May or early June and held at the church or at a member's home. Members invite spouses, friends, guests to enjoy--what else!--great fellowship and delicious food.

CHRISTMAS PARTY: The Wesley Class members gather during the Holiday season to enjoy an evening of breakfast foods and gift exchange.

HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERS:
Several members of the Wesley Class volunteer regularly at each of the two hospitals, Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospital.
